The Art Director will oversee the creation and implementation of certain design and creative deliverables for client projects, as well as complete his/her own assignments. Art Directors work with members of the Account team to evaluate a client’s goals and expectations, and then help brainstorm, pitch and implement design ideas. He/she will utilize their knowledge of print, digital and production techniques to produce the final deliverables as needed. Their experience will be vital to help coach and develop the skills of other graphic designers on the creative design team.

• Reports to VP, Creative
• Participates in the planning, development and production of graphic and digital materials to meet client communication needs
• Coordinates and manages printing needs with printers to ensure quality and cost-effective printing within client budget
• Presents concepts and mock-ups for approval
• Reviews and provides creative direction to other designers on the team, as needed
• Help coach and develop the skills and techniques of other designers, as needed
• Troubleshoots system hardware and software problems
• Archives electronic production files and preliminary art
• Make presentations of approved design concepts/solutions to clients as needed
• Performs related work and other duties as assigned

• Minimum of five (5) years of design experience in an art-related profession such as graphic design, branding, advertising or marketing. Seven to ten years a plus.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in fine arts, graphic design, or a related field
• Proficiency of computer-based design workstations and their design capabilities
• Proficiency with traditional graphics production methods, techniques and equipment
• Knowledge of design principles and HTML/CSS standards
• Proficiency in in the use of various computer software packages, including Adobe Creative Cloud and the Microsoft Office suite of applications
• Balance of technical understanding and visual design
• Experience working in collaborative environment and coaching or leading small teams, while being capable of working self-directed and independently
• Experience in web design and coding is a plus
