Crystal Finishing Systems Inc is Hiring a Waste Water Operations Supervisor Near Mosinee, WI

General Summary:

Provides front line oversight, including but not limited to: scheduling maintenance and team member hours, overseeing quality and safety processes, and department under the direction of the Anodize Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to direct workflow to ensure daily chemistry verifications are met. Reporting any issues or concerns to the Coatings Manager as soon as deviation is discovered.
  • Responsible for all chemical and laboratory testing and verification for the Anodizing Line and Waste Water Treatment plant.
  • Work with chemical operators or laboratory technician as required for maintenance tasks on the Anodizing Line and/or Waste Water Treatment Plant
  • Participate in daily activities with staff in work unit to meet department goals. Responsible to participate in any work activity in assigned area as needed.
  • Addresses any quality concerns with the Coatings Manager in a timely manner.
  • Responds to employee questions including simple policy interpretation, concerns, or other questions. Refers any complex questions or answers that require the use of discretion to the Coatings Manager.
  • Consult with Anodize Scheduling and Coatings Manager about maintenance priorities for the shift.
  • Review the areas with chemical personnel to ensure all materials and equipment is available and working properly.
  • Ensure proper quality checks and documentation is performed according to company standards.
  • Ensure chemical personnel are following work instructions and train new employee to work instructions.
  • Verify all maintenance data entry is being completed in Epicor or similar operations.
  • Can locate, read, comprehend and execute proper work instructions.
  • Is supportive of employee and company objectives while maintaining an objective viewpoint at all times.
  • Adjust leadership techniques to individual employees to ensure the most effective working relationships and work environment.
  • Provides thorough training to all new employees to the designated work unit. May delegate some training functions to other experienced employees or Department Leads.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with all employees in the department.
  • Shows consistency in treatment of all employees at all times.
  • Shows appreciation to co-workers by recognizing their work and provides recommendation for rewards to the Coatings Manager.
  • Works with other Supervisors and Leads in an effective, team-oriented manner.
  • Represents Crystal Finishing Systems in a positive manner at all times.
  • Ensures communication link between team members and supervisor/manager.
  • Provides recommendations to Coatings Manager in the areas of policy development, process changes, quality improvements, cost reductions, etc. to ensure the most effective working environment possible. Actively participates in continuous ongoing process improvement.
  • Provides feedback on employee performance and participates in the review process involving employees in the assigned work unit.
  • Participates in company tours for customers as requested.
  • Motivates team members in a positive manner within work unit to accomplish tasks to meet department goals.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area in accordance with 5S practices.
  • Follows and enforces all company policies including maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary business and employee information.
  • Ensures work areas are accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic by maintaining a clean work area at all times.
  • Properly wears required Personal Protective Equipment.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • Combination of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in leadership and participation or completion of leadership program preferred. Ability to lead a team environment a must.
  • Combination of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in chemistry and laboratory operations. Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry or above (or equivalent experience) is preferred
  • Knowledge of Painting and the paint process for painting aluminum is preferred.
  • Must have experience with laboratory analytical equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of production and quality processes required.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. High levels of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and/or conflicting situations.
