Job Title: Contract Full/Part-Time Family Law Attorney

Job Overview: Our nonprofit organization is seeking a Contract Family Law Attorney available for full or part-time engagement. This role provides crucial legal services across both family law and public benefits, serving a diverse client base. This position is ideal for attorneys who are dedicated to detailed client support and skilled in navigating complex legal and bureaucratic landscapes.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate in family law matters including divorce, custody, alimony, child support, and adoption.
  • Perform client intakes and provide advice, brief service, and/or referrals related to public benefits like TANF, food stamps, social security, SSI, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Prepare legal documentation and represent clients in court and mediation, adapting strategies to meet diverse client needs.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, guiding them through their legal proceedings and providing clear, understandable advice.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive legal services that enhance client welfare.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Georgia State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law, with substantial trial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and understand cultural nuances.
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Korean, Somali, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, or Vietnamese is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
