About the Role:

As an Audit Paraprofessional, you will be responsible for bookkeeping, basic accounting, basic tax and audit functions. There will be a variety of financial duties including gathering and analyzing data, calculating fees and charges, and maintaining accounting records.

Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinate documents and data collection with the audit department, clients, and outside parties.
• Prepare documentation supporting services for the audit department and clients, including deliverable work products. Audit areas will include cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, disbursements, payroll, and other areas impacting the financial statements.
• Analyze and prepare various audit and regulatory reporting forms, including data entry and working with applicable software.
• Assist with the preparation of IRS Form 990 and related tax returns for non-profit clients.
• Work with the audit team to meet deadlines, coordinate the scheduling of projects.
• Maintain records, policies, and procedures to ensure proper compliance while always adhering to strict confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma and/or a higher level of education (such as an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance), which is preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping
• One or more years of experience in auditing, bookkeeping, or accounting work, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
