Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Lead Electrical Engineering Team with conceptualization, planning, execution, quality control and closing processes of projects in own discipline.
  • Coordinates with related disciplines.
  • Responsible for leading the preparation of project specific Construction Documents (Drawings & Specifications) and providing construction administration Services / Field Engineering services.
  • Performs design and calculation tasks based on standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Applies standard practices, engineering fundamentals, and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, and follows design through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Responsible for overall management of the electrical team and has technical responsibility on a project.
  • Assures compliance and provide input with established firm-wide policies and procedures as related to project execution.
  • Makes recommendations and decisions that impact a project.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction, technical excellence, establishment and adherence to project budgets, income and cost.
  • Coordinates and manages project activities.
  • Communicate / Coordinate with task team members involved in technical discipline’s activities on a large to medium project.
  • Has contact with clients and professionals inside / outside the firm.
  • Supports the Business Development Team with electrical scope of work development and effort estimates for new projects.
  • Must be able to sign and seal all documents prepared by the department

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • New York State Professional Engineer License.
  • 15 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with at least five years managing a medium sized department that includes 8-10 engineers.
  • Should be well versed in overseeing and providing technical concepts and support to major governmental and commercial projects.
  • Revit and AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral, written skills and communication skills.
  • Teamwork and customer satisfaction oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a remote x hybrid work environment with geographically distributed team members.
