Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Manage Capital and Major Maintenance projects under the general guidance of the Engineer.
• Work independently with minimal guidance except for the agency procedures and policies.
• Project planning and scope development including design-build and design-bid-build RFPs preparation.
• Project presentations development and reporting.
• Critical thinking from an Owner’s perspective.
• Responsible for assuring compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements on project sites.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture is required.
• New York State Professional Engineer License is required.
• Broad based engineering knowledge in the areas of planning, design development and construction, scheduling, management and inspection obtained through a minimum of 10 years of practical experience in Engineering/Construction and Design Management.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience in developing contract documents, RFP preparation and project presentations and reporting.
• Experience in the use of Excel, Word, Bluebeam, MicroStation/AutoCAD, PowerPoint and other productivity and presentation software preferred.
• A driver’s license valid in the State of New York is required.
