Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Perform wastewater engineering planning and design projects under the direction of senior staff.
• Prepare preliminary and final civil/water plans/specifications and contract documents for senior staff review.
• Work with the engineering team on day-to-day engineering decisions.
• Assist senior staff with client and/or agency meetings and discussions.
• Manage younger staff as needed.
• Attend site visits and meetings as needed.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 5 years of engineering experience, including wastewater pumping and process design, civil-site utility plans, storm, and sanitary sewer design.
• 5 years of increasing design experience including coordination or multiple disciplines and the preparation of complete design deliverables.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) License or Professional Engineer (PE) in New York preferred.
• Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of sewer systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and MS Office software. InfoWater is a plus.
• Technical report writing experience.
• Client interaction experience and the ability to assist or direct project meetings.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
• Eagerness to learn and take direction.
• Project experience with NYCDEP is preferred.
• Affiliation and active participation in Professional Organizations (e.g. NYWEA/NJWEA, ASCE)
