CSF BUXMONT ACADEMY is Hiring a Health & PE Teacher Near Sellersville, PA
Hourly rate is $25 an hour. Hours are Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am-12pm. Additional hours may be available if desired. Benefits include competitive salary, 401K retirement plan, free professional development offerings (ACT 48 Credit eligible), Employee Assistance Program, and the opportunity to receive a free graduate certificate in restorative practices from the IIRP Graduate School. School hours are Monday through Thursday, 8am to 4pm, Fridays until 3pm. There are no evening or weekend hours. Buxmont Academy has 6 campuses in southeastern PA and uses restorative practices to encourage students to grow academically and emotionally. Classes are small with a high teacher to student ratio, and our staff work together as a part of an educational team for each student.
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or higher level of education, and either PA teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification. We welcome qualified candidates who are interested in becoming teachers. We also welcome retired teachers who miss being in the classroom!
Required Skills/Abilities
- Desire to teach secondary school-aged students and ability to adapt to their developmental status.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high stress situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The capacity to work effectively both independently and with a team.
- Proficient computer skills.
Qualified candidates will possess satisfactory State Criminal Record Check, State Child Abuse and FBI checks.
Salary: $25.00 per hour

About CSF BUXMONT ACADEMY
Community Service Foundation (CSF) and Buxmont Academy are dedicated to providing education, counseling, foster care and other services to help young people and their families to grow and change through restorative practices. Community Service Foundation & Buxmont Academy provide programs for troubled and at-risk youth in eastern Pennsylvania. Our students and clients are boys and girls, grades 1 to 12, struggling with a wide range of behavioral and emotional problems, including: learning difficulties, drug and alcohol abuse, legal problems, family problems, impulsive or aggressive behavior, l...ack of self-esteem, mental health issues, ADD/ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, sexual, physical or emotional abuse, truancy, school suspensions and expulsions. CSF Buxmont operates 5 school/day program sites, an elementary school program at one site and 4 community-based foster homes, in addition to in-home supervision programs, restorative reporting centers, restorative services for schools and the FGDM/restorative conferencing program. Our approach to working with youth is based on restorative practices, which helps students learn and grow behaviorally and emotionally as well as academically. Counseling focuses on helping teens take responsibility for their choices and behavior. Emphasis is on supporting personal growth and change, balanced with structure and accountability. The staff maintains communication with parents and professionals so that all of the adults in the teenagers life are cooperating in support of the same goals.
