CTA Construction Managers is Hiring an Assistant Superintendent Near Watertown, MA

Job DescriptionCTA Construction Managers, is an award-winning, ENR top 100 Green Contractor based in Waltham, MA. CTA specializes in large scale, complex, state of the art, LEED certified buildings throughout Massachusetts. They are currently seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent for project sites in and around Boston.
The Assistant Construction Superintendent will be based at construction sites in and around Boston. The ideal Assistant Superintendent candidate should be a strong leader with a proven track record in completing projects on time, with high quality while maintaining a safe work environment. The Assistant Superintendent is expected to fill in for the Superintendent whenever necessary to manage the day-to-day onsite activities of construction projects. This role includes assisting the Superintendent with the following:
  • Development and adherence to the project schedule
  • Maintaining the site-specific quality control plan
  • Development and maintenance of the site-specific safety plan
  • Development and maintenance of the site logistics plan
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
  • Generation of daily construction reports - Procore experience a plus
  • Generate weekly SWPPP inspection reports
  • Serve as liaison with the community in the areas where the project is being performed
  • Maintaining client relations with architects, owners, subcontractors, etc.
  • Spearheading site coordination amongst trades and acting as the site leader
  • Proactively resolve issues as they arise and/or pulling in appropriate parties to make effective resolution decisions.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication with Project Management team at all times
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communicate with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and Material Submittals.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions where appropriate.
  • Identify and address subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identify conflicts in construction documents and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Ensure subcontractors have corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
  • Identify and handle any issues of non-compliance with subcontractors relating to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Ensure timely completion of punch list with subcontractors.
  • Supervise and mentor Co-Op Associate Superintendents assigned to projects as needed

Requirements:
  • MA Unrestricted Construction Supervisors License (CSL) is required to advance in the Assistant Project Superintendent position (NOTE- CTA will consider who candidates who do not yet have this because of years of experience as long as it is the candidate's intention to obtain this license once they have the required work experience).
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Familiarity with Procore
  • Reliable form of transportation to and from job sites - note, not all job sites are near public transportation.
  • Previous assistant superintendent, quality control engineer, or project engineer experience on ground up commercial construction projects and/or commercial projects in the $30M range is a huge plus!

Salary: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
