1. Essential Functions: 

• Work within a team environment with their team of production leaders, to ensure a fluid shift handover, continuation of jobs and projects, and other ongoing items which must be addressed.
• Will oversee the entire production team within the Des Moines LeMar Plant.
• Will prioritize team members, production jobs and improvement projects for the Des Moines LeMar Plant on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. 
• Track, maintain and work to improve specific department and plant wide performance metrics of OCE (On-Time, Complete and Error-Free) through training, continuous improvement projects, etc.
• Will provide leadership to the production crew while coaching, mentoring, and training a lean culture.
• Will communicate to purchasing any material and consumable shortages while assisting in sequencing, ship dates, and deliveries of jobs to customers.
• Will work with detailers and engineering to resolve print questions and ambiguity.
• Will promote and lead production team members in all aspects of 5S and LDMS principles.
• Ensure that all safety policies, procedures, and concepts are always adhered to.
• Will utilize computer programs to ensure production orders/controls are tracked/entered properly.
• Will create and utilize excel spreadsheets for quality logs, SOP’s, etc.
• Responsible for cross-training, developing, and monitoring the training/skill level status of direct reports.
• Ability to train others on production controls, processes, equipment, etc.
• All other projects or items which may be assigned from LeMar Plant Leadership or CTB, Inc.

1. Education: Bachelors degree required; experience will be taken into account if not degree.
2. Experience: 3-5 years manufacturing experience is preferred, specifically within the steel industry. Additional experience within structural steel manufacturing within a weld/fabrication setting role is preferred. Prior work in a lead or supervisory role is required.
3. Certification(s): N/A
4. Functional Skills: Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operations required. Ability to read basic print facts and follow production orders. Ability to read tape measure to ensure accuracy.
5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Ability to run Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to be trained in operation of JD Edwards/AS400/Oracle. Experience in JD Edwards/AS400/Oracle preferred but not required.
6. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
7. Leadership/Behaviors: Self-starter who can work independently and learn quickly. Ability to communicate and work with diverse individuals. Proven knowledge of production management, best practices and Lead manufacturing.

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

• Ability to stand and work 8 to 12-hour shifts. Highly frequent standing and walking. 
• Occasional grasping, pushing, pulling, flipping, and lifting of sheet metal and other materials that weigh up to 100 lbs.

• Seasonal temperature conditions in the plant vary – summers are hot and humid in the building and winters are cold when working near open overhead doors.
• PPE required (such as long pants, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and hard hats at times)
