Responsible for the comprehensive planning and management of transportation requirements, ensuring
timely and efficient service. The role involves coordinating complex pick-ups, managing freight claims,
and handling crisis management for lost loads. Accountable for the analysis and optimization of
transportation operations within the organization. This position will include gathering and analyzing data
related to transportation costs, efficiency, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Consolidate fragmented information and develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning for
transportation requirements and submit appropriate forecasts to internal customers and vendors.
• Able to make timely decisions regarding carrier selection with a focus on service level (including
white glove and final mile), carrier quality performance, and cost considerations.
• Processing of transportation requests and updating tracking to be performed daily, in compliance
with the transportation run rules; ensuring timely execution to meet the requested pick-up and
arrival dates and secure carrier capacity ahead of the competition.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and
outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Potentially coordinate complex pick-ups from remote and unusual locations; scheduling with
national and regional based carriers.
• Experience working freight claims with regional and national carriers, able to track progress to
completion.
• Escalate any trending customer-driven delivery issues to leadership.
• Operate with little supervision regarding crisis management and recovery of “Lost Loads”, where
necessary initiating and managing vendor escalations.
• Coordinate all functions related to on-time pick-up and delivery of Less Than Truckload (LTL) and
Full Truck Load (FTL) shipments.
• Work with the appropriate parties on loads not scheduled by the end of period.
• Establish Key Performance indicators highlighting internal and external performance. Examples
include but are not limited to Cost per Mile, On-Time Pick-up, Vendor Damage, Lost Load
Quantities, etc.

• Directly interface with external customers as the subject matter expert on transportation related
subjects and analytics.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and act as fractional leader for RCCA (Root
Cause Corrective Action) and SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) administration.
• Some understanding and familiarity with routing, freight billing, and process documentation would
be a plus.

Required Skills and Experience
• 5 years of experience in transportation operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of Transportation Management and Carrier Dispatching systems.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Outlook, strong skill set in Excel and Power Point.
• Must work and participate effectively in a team environment.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships
with carriers, customers (both external and internal) and distribution operations.
• Timely and effective verbal and written communications.
• Highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organization skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, internally, and externally, to all levels of management.
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI.
Educational Requirements
• Associates degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Within CTDI. We share personnel personal information within CTDI and among its subsidiaries and affiliates to receive IT services/security, Human Resources, tax and accounting, and general business and employment purposes. Access to personal information is limited to those on a need-to-know basis.
With Service Providers. We will share your personal information with our service providers to assist us in managing and administrating your tenure. These service providers include IT support, human resource management software providers, health insurance, payroll, expense processing, benefits plan providers, and professional advisors (i.e., accountants, legal).
With Third Parties. We will share your personal information with third parties, such as legal advisors, law enforcement agencies, or governmental/regulatory bodies in order to protect our legal interests and other rights, protect against fraud or other illegal activities, for risk management purposes, and to comply with our legal obligations.
During a corporate reorganization.
