Job OverviewDirects and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates at the Saginaw – Bean Plant. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to a certain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks.
  • Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Effectively align the operations management team with company strategies and goals.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Excellent work ethic and willingness to be hands-on in all areas of the operation
  • Ability to take and execute direction to help the company reach its goal and provide superior customer service in every department
  • Directly supervises the production supervisors across the 2 Shifts. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training management employees; planning, assigning, and directing work to production supervisors; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
