Warehouseman (Assistant)

We are now hiring an Assistant Warehouseman at the Lake Saint Louis location.

JOB SUMMARY:

The warehouseman receives and distributes materials from inventory to support the construction and maintenance of power lines and assist with inventory control. Completes paperwork and computer entries documenting receipts and distribution of material to proper accounts for material transactions. Provides maintenance and proper storage for oil-filled transformers and other line equipment, including oil test sampling, to insure availability of functional and well-maintained equipment and compliance with applicable environmental regulations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of a high school diploma.
• S. degree in supply chain management is preferred.
• A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted when competency in the role is demonstrated.

JOB KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of material management procedures required.
• General knowledge of electric utility operations is beneficial, but not necessary.
• High level of general math skills desired.
• Must have sound knowledge of the proper and safe use of tools and equipment used in warehouse operations.
• Must be able to acquire within a reasonable time span a knowledge of materials used in the construction of overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Should be willing to attend courses relating to his/her area of work.

EXPERIENCE:

• At least one year in supply chain experience preferred, preferably in a utility environment.
• Experience should include exposure to materials utilized in construction and maintenance of a distribution system.

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lifting: Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; use aids for heavier items.
• Standing/Walking: Prolonged standing, walking, and navigating warehouse.
• Dexterity: Skilled use of hands for tools and equipment.
• Bending: Bend, stoop, kneel, and work at various heights.
• Reaching: Full arm range for overhead reaching.
• Climbing: Climb ladders/stairs and work at heights.
• Vision: Inspect products and differentiate colors.
• Hearing: Hear verbal cues, alarms, and signals.
• Equipment: Operate warehouse tools safely.
• Environment: Work in noisy, varying temperatures, and dusty areas.
