Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer 2 in Mossville, IL. The work will be done onsite three days a week. The rest will be work from home. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $115,000/yr including benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay. Job Title: Embedded Software Developer

Position Overview: The Embedded Software Developer will perform and lead the requirements, design, development, and testing of network communication and foundational information software for embedded systems used in Caterpillar machine and industrial applications. This role is part of the Common Services and Network Solutions team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop embedded 'C' and/or C code software solutions to meet system requirements.
• Use system requirements to design, develop, and test software components for machine control platforms, engine control platforms, display, and telematics platforms.
• Conduct requirements development and analysis, software design, software implementation, and interface between software layers.
• Develop and execute test procedures for software components.
• Interface between hardware and software, evaluating the operational performance of the overall system.
• Ensure software components comply with software architecture standards.
• Work on Data Link and Common Services components (e.g., Data link protocol implementations, Diagnostics, Hardware Abstraction Layer, and Information services).

Typical Day in the Role:

• Collaborate on projects with a mentor and team, including requirements gathering, design, coding, and testing of software in C or C .
• Daily communication with the manager and team members.
• Hybrid work environment with a minimum of three days per week onsite, more as needed based on business requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development.
• Will consider a Master's Degree or above with applicable project/internship work counting toward experience, provided durations are listed on the resume with at least 1 year of experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in designing and coding in C and/or C .

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience in developing software in Embedded C and/or C (minimum 3 years).
• Knowledge of machine systems or mechanical knowledge is desired.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.

Disqualifiers:

• Inability to work onsite at least three days per week.
• Lack of required technical skills and experience.
