POSITION DETAILS

The Scholarship and Stewardship Coordinator will report to the Executive Director for Institutional Advancement and Communications and External Relations at The City College of New York. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Scholarship and Stewardship Coordinator duties include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Assist with the management of The Foundation for City College's student scholarship accounts

• Maintain communication with students receiving scholarship awards.

• Prepare scholarship non-tax levy disbursement forms.

• Work with College divisions and offices to coordinate the awarding and distribution of student scholarships and provide aggregate data on student progress.

• Implement and monitor growth of new scholarships as they become available.

• Communicate with funders throughout the grant cycle as needed and in collaboration with the fundraising team.

• Compile, review, and update all informational materials required for effective program implementation.

• Provide administrative support to the senior leadership team as needed.

• Interface with department chairs, faculty, students, Admissions, Bursar, Finance and other academic departments.

• Assist with coordination of special events/receptions for recipients and donors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a higher education setting

  • Knowledge of City College or a similar academic setting

  • Excellent writing, proofreading, editing, and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, diverse workplace while multitasking and prioritizing during high-pressure, time-sensitive assignments

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word, Outlook and Excel and knowledge of Raiser's Edge

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet the time sensitive needs of semester scholarship distribution

  • Ability to provide exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality in all interactions and communications

  • Detail-oriented and accurate with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Supports College fundraising activities by providing operational and analytical support.

  • Researches potential funding programs and opportunities

  • Researches, compiles, and prepares various data for reports and analysis

  • Participates in drafting funding proposals, applications, and other correspondence

  • Assists with prospect research

  • Prepares pre- and post-solicitation materials

  • Provides support for fundraising activities and events

  • May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget

  • Performs related duties as assigned

Salary range: $49,960-$68,245. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
