Curbtender is Hiring a MATERIAL PROCESSOR Near Cedar, IA

Material Processor

Must be capable of accurately completing all receiving and shipping documents, both manually and with the aid of a computer and software system. Provide all material handling requirements. Conduct inventory and cycle counts. Manufacture protective shipping containers per drawings. Prepare parts and hardware for safe shipment. Pull purchased and manufactured parts for parts carts, mounting and export kits. Issue purchased and manufactured parts from inventory for production line usage. Operate overhead jib cranes and other electric and manual material handling equipment. Operate the company truck and make deliveries, if directed. Load and unload all incoming and departing trucks and packages. Performe regularly scheduled maintenance and daily inspections on the material handling equipment/company truck, and alert the maintenance department with potential mechanical problems. Must maintain a clean and safe work area. Provide any suggestions to management on quality and safety improvements regarding the work environment and product. Perform any other job deemed necessary by management.

  • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping/receiving records.
  • Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
  • Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
  • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
  • Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
  • Loads trucks or railroad car using a forklift.
  • Performs other clerical duties.
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items being shipped.
  • Basic understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to understand engineering drawings and sketches.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting,overhead reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
  • Must be able to stand constantly
