Curexa Pharmacy is Hiring a Compounding Data Entry Technician Near Egg Harbor, NJ

The Pharmacy Technician (aka Patient Care Coordinator, Compounding Care Coordinator, Data Entry Technician, and Compounding Lab Technician) is responsible for aiding and assisting Pharmacists in the practice of prescriptions entry and dispensing as ordered by practitioners. This is accomplished through various acts that are meant to maintain the pharmacy environment, maintain the pharmacy inventory, serve customers, and further the business interests of Curexa. The New Jersey Administrative Code Title 13, Chapter 39 provides the framework that guides what tasks are allowable and what tasks are not allowable for the pharmacy technician to perform. It is the responsibility of the individual to abide by these regulations.
It is the responsibility of all Curexa personnel to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful and professional. Requirements
  • General (NJAC 13:39--6.5)
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Show that he or she is proficient in written and spoken English
  • Prior to offer of employment, a pharmacy technician must be willing to pass a criminal background check that includes fingerprinting and that ensures prior and ongoing compliance with Federal and state laws regarding Medicare (OIG and SAMe), Medicaid, and Sex Offender disclosure, along with drug test.

  • Must be registered in good standing as a pharmacy technician by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Board of Pharmacy, if not
ii) Any person who is hired as a pharmacy technician who is not registered with the NJ Board of Pharmacy shall be designated a pharmacy technician applicant. A person may only be considered a pharmacy technician applicant one time and only for a maximum of 180 consecutive days. During the first 10 (ten) days of employment, the pharmacy technician applicant shall file an application with the Board to begin the pharmacy technician registration process. The applicant shall retain proof of filing the application until he or she receives his or her registration. If at the conclusion of the 180-day period, the pharmacy technician applicant has not completed the pharmacy technician registration process, the applicant shall cease performing pharmacy technician functions in the pharmacy
iii) All registrants must display their large blue registration prominently at their primary place of employment and carry their wallet-size registration when working at 2 or more places of employment.
The Pharmacy Technician is delegated sufficient authority to successfully complete the duties, responsibilities, goals, and objectives that are assigned to this position.
Assist in the data entry, preparation, compounding and fulfillment of prescriptions according to state and federal laws and Curexa Pharmacy Standards of Operation (SOPs) and Policies and Procedures.
Inform Pharmacist, supervisor, or manager of any occurrences or situations arising in the pharmacy that need further attention.
Assist with the maintenance of accurate and complete pharmacy inventories.
Assist with the maintenance of a clean store, with a neat and orderly appearance of stocked and properly organized shelves.
DATA ENTRY TECHNICIAN
Responsible for duties listed above and other specific tasks as follows:
Accurately data enter all the required patient information into the computer software system for pharmacist review including patient name, DOB, demographic info, contact number, drug allergies, concomitant medications, disease states, billing and shipment information along with the required prescription information per New Jersey state Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations.
Alert the on-duty Pharmacist to any drug interactions, drug allergies, or warnings that may appear upon data entering prescriptions.
Alert the on-duty Pharmacist to any inconsistencies or incorrect information on the prescription that may require clarification from the prescriber.
Update drug costs, AWP, NDC, and package sizes from various manufacturers into the computer system.
Enter new compound formulas into the computer system to reflect proper chemicals and medications used to compound the product. Update as needed to ensure that the proper costs are billed to third-parties and to patients.
Submit third party prescription billings, automatic refill requests by customers, Paychex billing and coupon cards that customers provide for reimbursement of claims. Correct all denied claims and call for prior authorizations from practitioner offices.
Inform customers of delays in filling their prescription.
Check the IVR system for refill requests and patient calls. Inform the Pharmacist of practitioner calls needed to be addressed. Check the electronic prescription system and print prescriptions that need to be filled.
Assist with audit preparation and reconciliation as directed by Management.
Collate and file any Rx activity paperwork from the previous day.
Prepare and send daily prescription/OTC drug order via computer to various wholesalers.
Track inventory levels in computer, order points, and return excess medication to maintain a proper inventory.
Reverse third-party claims and return medications to stock after 2 weeks in the "Will-Call" section.
