Curexa Pharmacy is Hiring a Compounding Lab Team Lead (Certified Preferred) Near Egg Harbor, NJ

The Compounding Team Lead is a registered and certified pharmacy technician position who supports Curexa Pharmacy services through the compounding of prescription medications. The position will assist the Lab Operation’s professional staff, under direct supervision, in all numerous aspects of non-sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous preparations using the principles of compounding practices meeting USP and USP standards. Technical duties include, but are not limited to, drug inventory management, drug preparation, packaging, labeling and regulatory compliance. Responsible for completing and delegating compounding and regulatory tasks, directing area workflow, and other duties as assigned. Shall maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary working environment by complying with Curexa policies and procedures, SOPs, NJ state Board of Pharmacy regulations and federal laws, and to facilitate Curexa’s growth and success of the pharmacy. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Compounding Team Lead reports directly to the Lab Supervisor and indirectly reports to the Lab Production Manager and Pharmacist(s) on duty. REQUIREMENTS (GENERAL, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES)
  • 18 years if age or older with High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Licensed as a registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing in New Jersey
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. over short distances
  • Body movements consist of walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending; and flexing the arms, legs, wrists and fingers. Standing for most of the shift.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner and with accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency with the willingness to learn specific pharmacy-based computer software; Word and Excel proficiency is a plus ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND TASKS
  • Determine and ensure all area’s workflow is maintained efficiently and adjust accordingly to align with defined service level goals relating to inventory replenishment and/or identified Service Level Agreement items
  • Monitor/audit and ensure compliance with required Lab Operation’s Daily/Weekly/Monthly documentation
  • Communicate with Warehouse designated staff to coordinate delivery of required raw materials, packaging, and lab supplies; if known, provide requests at least the day/evening before to allow Warehouse time to incorporate into daily delivery schedule
  • Coordinate any movement of packaging supplies from exterior storage to lab area and vice versa
  • Generation of daily batch/log paperwork, scan tag labels, inventory labels, and necessary product breakdown labels
  • Support area’s workflow by compounding, packaging, or labeling preparation batches; incorporating additional new preparations into area’s workflow as warranted
  • Supports the goals, policies, and standard operating procedures of the pharmacy
  • Work directly with the Lab Supervisor and upper management to implement and roll out new or changes/improvements to existing policies and procedures, maintain area cleaning schedule, and address deficiencies identified via internal quality audits
  • Works directly with the Lab Trainer(s) to schedule, identify, and re-enforce training/retraining of team members to ensure compliance, competency, and documentation of approved best standards of practice
  • Works directly with the compliance and training department to schedule and facilitate assigned potency testing for area’s staff
  • Communicate assigned workflow to all relevant team members within half-hour of start of shift
  • Submit via email, by end of shift, a detailed account of items worked on, items produced, batch quantity sizes, current status/stage, equipment malfunctions, materials needed for stock replenishment, and any other pertinent information
  • Assist in developing lab production metrics and standard times for reasonable completion of compounding task(s); assist in collecting identified daily/weekly/monthly metrics and report these to Lab Supervisor and/or Director, Compounding Operations or designee as instructed
  • Recommend in writing and/or submit via email, any ideas for process or workflow improvements to the Lab Supervisor and Director, Compounding Operations
  • Monitor email and team chat(s) and provide communication responses, acknowledgement, or updates for requests from fulfillment staff, account managers, and upper management promptly (within an hour of request) via email or teams chat
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company information and ensure support personnel exercise equal discretion
  • Operate ethically and in compliance with all federal, state board of pharmacy and accreditation regulations and all USP 795 and USP 800 guidelines for an FDA 503a pharmacy
  • Assist with quarterly or annual physical inventory; this may require working hours beyond scheduled shift and may include working overtime
  • Monitors and assures work area is maintained as a safe, clean, and sanitary condition at all times
