We are a 20 year old company, but under new ownership we are growing and expanding. We are seeking motivated, honest, hardworking, and diligent individuals to join our team as we expand our services across all of southwest Missouri (Springfield, Joplin, and Branson)

A remodel/reconstruction estimator plays a critical role in the construction and renovation industry by assessing the costs associated with remodeling, rebuilding, or repairing structures that have been damaged or require significant improvements. Their primary responsibility is to calculate accurate cost estimates for construction projects, which helps clients, insurance companies, and property owners make informed decisions. Their duties and responsibilities include:

Client Interaction:

  • Communicating with clients, insurance adjusters, and property owners to discuss project details, cost breakdowns, and timelines.
  • Addressing client inquiries and providing clarification on estimates and project plans.
  • Discuss overall construction project process and ongoing status updates, financial aspects, and collections.

Project Assessment:

  • Gathering or reviewing project specifications, plans, and blueprints to understand the scope of work.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to assess the existing conditions, including current layout, damage, or deterioration.
  • Must have significant construction background in order to accurately evaluate all aspects of residential construction.

Cost Estimation:

  • Determining the quantity and cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services required for the project.
  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates using Xactimate cost estimation software. (Highly desired, but willing to invest in candidates with significant construction experience or management)
  • Accounting for factors such as building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements in the estimates.

Project Management:

  • Act as the lead project manager.
  • Arranging for all material purchases and deliveries,
  • Collaborating with suppliers, subcontractors, and construction teams to obtain accurate pricing and scheduling information.
  • Evaluating subcontractor bids and proposals for inclusion in the overall project estimate.
  • Coordination with Operations Director for all inhouse labor requirements.
  • Monitoring project budgets and providing cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget constraints.
  • Maintaining detailed records of all estimates, including material costs, labor rates, and any special considerations.
  • Preparing reports and documentation to support cost estimates and project proposals.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Staying up-to-date with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance in estimates and project execution.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, new construction materials, and cost-effective practices to enhance estimation accuracy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 10 years in residential remodel/reconstruction field and management experience or Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools. (Desired)
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification in estimating (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator, CPE) may be beneficial.

Reconstruction estimators play a vital role in helping clients make informed decisions about repair or renovation projects and in ensuring that these projects are financially viable and executed successfully.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
