Current Lighting Employee Co LLC is Hiring a Design Engineer – New Product Development Near Greenville, SC

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field. We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver to design our lighting products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, a creative mindset, and a proven track record of delivering exceptional design solutions. Experience in lighting is highly desired but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualization and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop innovative lighting solutions that meet project requirements and objectives.
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform engineering analysis, including thermal analysis, optical simulation, and photometric testing, to validate design concepts and ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping and testing of lighting fixtures and systems, analyze test results, and iterate designs as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support the manufacturing and assembly of lighting products and components.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the design and development process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in lighting design and engineering, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a demonstrated passion for creativity and innovation.
  • Experience in lighting development is highly desired but not required.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools and software.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform engineering analysis and interpret test results.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational/prioritization skills with ability to work independently as well in a team environment as needed.
  • SAP experience is desired but not required.

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $87,000-$110,000.
