THIS ROLE: 

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk at Curtin Maritime verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Receives, records, packages, and ships all incoming materials and verifies counts, while following policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route all materials into the facility and off-site Vessels (remote sites) and enter the receipts in the Materials Management software system. 
• Notify the Procurement/Supply Chain Manager of any discrepancies of materials versus shippers' documentation. 
• Prepare shipments, including documentation, for outbound shipments. 
• Manage in the Returned Goods process according to the Returned Goods SOP. 
• Deliver stock to the appropriate staging area for departments. 
• Put warehoused items in the designed storage areas and rotate stock according to receipt date and expiration dates to ensure proper stock rotation and use prior to expiration. 
• Record any visible product defects upon receipt and report to the purchaser to determine any actions that may need to be taken. 
• Assist in cycle count and full physical inventory. 
• Comply with all applicable and current Materials and Services Management, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, OSHA, CLIA, etc. policies and procedures. 
• Analyze current procedures in place and make recommendations for process improvements to the Procurement/Supply Chain Manager. 
• Assist in purchase order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of both internal and external orders as needed. 
• Assist in record storage and retrieval process as needed. 
• Assist in preparation, receipt, and distribution of internal, inbound, and external mail as needed. 
• Perform other duties as required. 

WHO YOU ARE:

Certifications and Other Requirements

• High school Diploma or equivalent (Required) 
• Shipping & Receiving: 2 years (Required) 
• Forklift: 2 years (Required) 
• ERP systems: 2 years (Required) 

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities and shipping methods that are required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. 
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds routinely during the course of shift. This position will require lifting, carrying, pushing, bending, twisting, and pulling daily. 
• Maintain valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation and must be insurable. 
• Ability to read, write and communicate with co-workers and managers. 
• Ability to compute numbers and operate a PC computer. 
• Ability to operate a forklift.
