Operations Supervisor
It’s a hybrid you don’t see often. Be part of a leadership team while implementing new processes and procedures in a fast-paced but small company. Your experience as an operations supervisor in order fulfillment will be highly valued as we strive to become more streamlined and efficient.
If you have the knack for being able to develop operations strategies and come up with a solution to a problem, we want you on our team! This is a working supervisor position, meaning you will be doing various jobs within the warehouse (customer service, receiving, ordering, shipping) as well as leading, managing, and assessing your team. We utilize EOS-Entrepreneurial Operating Systems.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Lead and Manage
  • Leads, manages and holds the team accountable for achieving agreed-upon metrics.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by supervising, organizing, directing, and utilizing effective time management.
  • Meet regularly with management to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for increased productivity.
  • Responsible for managing employee schedules, absences, PTO requests, and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Work closely with direct reports to establish and prioritize their key ROCKs connected with our annual plan and ensure they are in line with our strategic goals.
  • Proven leadership skills in organizing, planning, and directing a warehouse operation and it’s staff.
  • Must be engaging, motivating, and able to help others.
  • Hire, train, and supervise a warehouse team and seasonal workers to meet shipping deadlines.
Core Processes
  • Understands and can perform all roles on the operations team: customer service, purchasing, receiving, and shipping.
  • Responsible for the development and documenting CES core processes.
  • Continually streamlines processes and systems for consistency and better productivity.
  • Resolves issues effectively – seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out lack of accountability, and solving problems in a practical and healthy manner.
  • Dependably demonstrates a relentless obsession with values alignment, focus, accountability, and clarity.
  • Faithfully executes the business plan, achieving or exceeding planned objectives.
  • Develop a process to resolve questions, backorders, and substitutions for fulfilling orders.
Project Management
  • Create and execute multi-step plans for customized projects.
  • Strong prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to manage a team that excels across multiple projects amidst a fast-paced, cross-functional, results-oriented work environment.
  • Lead discussions on improving software system functionality.
  • Project budget and staffing for large-scale projects.
Inventory Management
  • Understanding of both “cross-stock” and “inventory-based” warehouse practices.
  • Ensures inventory and cost of books are accurate.
  • Accurately transact the inventory movement in the ERP system.
  • Develops, implements & manages cycle counts.
  • Responsible for entire purchasing and inventory processes.
  • Troubleshoots inventory issues and communicates with the leadership team on any relevant problems.
  • Cost control – provide communication on price variances of more than 3%.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Conduct inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy; investigate & reconcile discrepancies & negative counts with internal customers and external subcontractors.
  • Keep the warehouses clean and organized.
