Position : SMT Assembler

Job Summary : Are you someone who has high attention to detail, can perform work under a microscope, and special soldering for surface mount and fine pitch parts?

CME is looking for Soldering Assemblers for SMT, critical assemblies, cables, and components in support of the aerospace / defense, commercial, & industrial base.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Uses microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually align parts before soldering and perform post re-flow inspection and touch-up
• Identify, adjust, and repair / replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
• Read schematics as well as interpret assembly drawings, and identify SMT components as well as orientation and placement on circuit boards.
• Inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance factors and for operation; and record results
• Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths
• LEAN manufacturing experience, mentoring and / or train workers
• Other duties assigned

Job Qualifications :

• Three (3) years of work experience in a similar position and have above average surface mount and fine pitch soldering skills for soldering assembly and / or production
• IPC-610 Certification and IPC J-STD-001 Certification
• Experience with AS9100, CMMI and J-STD-001C Class 3 standards
• Strong oral and written communication skills (in English)
• Ability to read blueprints and / or technical instructions (in English)
• Ability to conduct quality control tests and inspections of products to evaluate quality
• Ability to troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and to decide on solution
• Able to sit for long periods of time and focus on tedious tasks
• Understanding of and ability to follow chemical safety requirements, safety rules, and regulations
• Understanding of ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or similar
• Overtime may be required in meet schedule

Minimum Requirements Needed :

• High School, technical / administrative trade school
• At least 3 years of related assembly experience (Preferred)
• Positions with CME require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.
