General Description

The Yard/Warehouse Laborer is responsible for performing an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Assisting everyone at the yard in a timely and efficient manner to minimize production down time, as well as perform other routine maintenance tasks as required to support production.

Role and Responsibilities

• Have knowledge of all yard aspects and can take over different tasks.
• Assist shipping and unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
• Open bales, crates, and other containers
• Prepare parcels for mailing.
• Wear the proper safety equipment.
• Moves and stores material and maintains yard.
• Assist Forklift Driver stack pipe and other material.
• Ability and willingness to perform any and all jobs assigned by the Supervisor.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to learn and improve to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
• Be aware of safety rules and environmental regulations and put them into practice in the plant.

Preferred Skills

• Prior yard/warehouse experience is highly desired.
• Must be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator.
