 We have a great opportunity for a Driver in our Wilkes-Barre, PA location! 

SUMMARY 

Primary responsibility is to drive a box truck, van, or flatbed to pick up and deliver products to our on/off site customers in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives truck or equipment to assigned location.
  • Pick up parts and equipment from customers, and vendors, coordinating with Facility Manager and other staff.
  • Maintains telephone and email communications with supervisor to receive instructions.
  • Performs routine maintenance on truck or equipment such as pre-trip inspections of truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water. 
  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.
  • Completes DOT logs at the time of delivery and requests recipient’s signature.
  • Cleans inside of truck. Washes vehicle a minimum of once a week.
  • Turns in all paperwork and undelivered products.
  • Maintains professional appearance and represents the Company by professional demeanor, being courteous with all those coming into contact.
  • Reports accidents to Manager, etc. immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
  • Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of product.
  • Will be cross trained to be able to help out in other departments.
  • Participates in all available training programs.
  • Operates forklift and maintains current forklift license.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record to remain insurable under company; CDL B not required, but a plus. 
  • A minimum of two years driving experience driving a delivery truck, box truck, etc.
  • Ability to operate a standard/manual transmission

Working Conditions

  • Attendance – The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance 7:00 am-4:30/5 pm, Monday-Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary in order to meet business demands
  • Majority of work performed in a on the road, in the shop, and outside.
  • Must be able to spend night if driving hours are exceeded in a normal shift.
  • May be exposed to bright lights, varying temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes

Physical Requirements

  • Employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb stairs, and enter and leave truck cab, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. 
  • The employee is regularly required to move about the vehicle. 
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces during the course of the workday
