1.0 FTE Therapeutic Special Education Teacher – Cutler School Job Description The Cutler School is looking to add a Special Education Teacher for a Therapeutic Learning Center in a K-5 elementary school. The TLC provides academic support as well as the development of coping strategies to decrease behaviors and allow for optimal access to the general education learning environment. Support for students is provided within the general education classroom and/or other areas of the school community, as needed. Students have the opportunity for support within the therapeutic learning center classroom as well. Responsibilities include:Working directly with students social/emotional and behavioral challenges.Development and implementation of behavior plans/ongoing therapeutic interventionsConsultation to classroom teachersProvision of direct academic instruction as neededSupervision of therapeutic teaching assistants, as assigned to the TLC and studentsOngoing parent communicationConduct academic achievement evaluations for initial and reevaluation, as assignedExperience with students on the autism spectrum and students with social, emotional, and behavioral disabilities preferred.Experience writing IEPs, including goals requiredExperience writing progress reports requiredAbility to work collaboratively with staff and parents requiredJob Requirements•Master’s degree required •At least 3 years of relevant experience.•Must have current DESE licensure as Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8)
