Summary
- Comprehend and apply the customer's safety, installation quality, process, and communication standards. Uphold professionalism, quality, safety, metrics, and process standards. Follow all policies, procedures, and directives. Maintain positive customer relationships. Comply with installer task descriptions and restrictions as outlined in Telcordia GR-1275-CORE. Manage the team tool kit and team van, ensuring proper appearance and maintenance. Escalate any issues to your immediate supervisor for resolution.
- Conduct an assessment of AC and DC power risks associated with the project and formulate a risk mitigation plan. This assessment should include arc flash hazard protection requirements. Review the risk and associated mitigation plan during the project kick-off call.
- Compose DMOPS in compliance with customer, vendor, and industry standards and requirements.
- Carry out an inventory of materials against the BOM and Engineering documents. Report any shortages to the Project Supervisor.
- Execute an on-site layout of the project in line with the Engineering documents and BOM before construction begins. Liaise with the Project Engineer to resolve any discrepancies.
- Install or modify cable conveyances and office infrastructure as per the Engineering documents and customer standards.
- Position cable as per the Engineering documents and on-site installation layout. Exhibit proper lacing technique.
- Install, replace, or repair DC power equipment, batteries, and related equipment as per the Engineering documents and customer standards.
- Carry out additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits. This includes circuit modifications, software additions or upgrades, power transition work, and battery addition or removal.
- Initiate programming of DC power plant controllers.
- Input changes into DC power plant controllers as needed.
- Conduct Midtronics battery testing and interpret results; address any significant deviations.
- Charge batteries according to the customer's standards.
- Complete the quality checklist at the end of the job and ensure correction of any quality non-conformances.
- Work with the customer (if required) or independently to perform equipment tests and turn-up.
- Mark/correct office record drawings.
- Conduct site surveys independently.
- Act as the Installation Supplier's person in charge.
- Oversee multiple sites effectively.
- Manage the inventory of material and equipment for each assigned project.
- Keep the Project Management team and all customer stakeholders updated on the project as requested.
- Accurately track all time and expenses and submit using approved methods promptly.
- Ensure timely job completion within budgeted man hours.
- Identify, communicate and facilitate resolution of job issues (e.g., manpower, material, engineering, technical support, etc.) promptly.
- Provide direct supervision and on-the-job training to field personnel.
- Delegate tasks and assignments effectively.
- Mentor lower-level installation technicians.
- Enforce corporate and divisional policies.
