Job SummaryThe Senior Buyer, under the supervision of the Procurement Manager, is responsible for providing support across various ministries. This includes assisting Associates with orders for supplies and equipment necessary for patient care, facility maintenance, and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
Actively research and resolve issues with purchase orders, including obtaining details for substitute products when necessary.
Maintain daily reports and actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
Process purchase requests for assigned region in a timely manner, ensuring all problematic lines are researched, data corrected, and orders confirmed by the vendor.
Utilize unreleased reports as a resource to ensure orders from the previous day are processed and in released status.
Process special type POs according to CHRISTUS policies and standardization processes.
Take corrective steps where requisitions are created improperly, or order failed to transmit to the vendor as expected.
Manage STAT related requests, manually processing to ensure delivered overnight as requested, follow-up on STAT orders to obtain tracking information and communicate any delays to facility/requester prior to expected delivery.
Manage extended delivery delays by second sourcing, engage with vendor representative for substitute, obtain facility approval before processing substitute. Escalate unresolved issues to Clinical if subs or second sourcing options are unavailable or unacceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hospital setup
Procurement/Purchasing of Medical Office Supplies
Buying experience within the Healthcare industry
Inventory Management
