Job Description:

SUMMARY
Works collaboratively with the Creative Services Director to provide effective project management for the coordination and execution of activities related to Integrated Communications. Responsible for managing, creating and maintaining the visual communications of the department and the College across print, interactive and broadcast media.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creates and implements the College’s visual brand with creativity and appropriateness for a variety of media (including print, outdoor, interactive and broadcast) and target audiences
  • Selects and manages the project management software in conjunction with IT and/or outside vendors
  • Manages creative project intake, distribution and timelines for the Integrated Communications Department
  • Consults with clients to evaluate individual project needs in collaboration with the Creative Director
  • Prioritizes workload of multiple projects to meet deadlines, tracks project progress using project management software
  • Manages Portfolio, the asset management software program, including access permissions, photography uploading, tagging and labeling
  • Performs quality checks of final designs/proofs to ensure accuracy of content and design
  • Manages photography vendors including scheduling, securing quotes and purchase orders as well as photo direction on and off site
  • Maintains and updates internal style guides to ensure consistency and relevance of the College’s brand; provides training in Integrated Communications and to other College departments on use of the brand
  • Trains staff on the appropriate use of the project management software and makes recommendations for improved efficiencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts or related field
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in visual design
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Visual Design theories, concepts and practices with the ability to apply in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
  • Demonstrated intermediate project management skills
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
  • Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Possess intermediate-level proficiency Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent software
  • Possess strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite emphasizing InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
  • Ability to collaborate, persuade and gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
