Throughout the DC Metropolitan region, we self-perform sitework, underground utilities, concrete infrastructure, and other specialty civil services as a general contractor and civil subcontractor. We are seeking an experienced Construction Controller to join our team!
Position Overview: This position will be responsible of managerial and high-level accounting in addition to managing the business's finances. The controller, who leads the accounting division, is in charge of overseeing and managing every facet of accounting, including tax compliance and payroll. will be responsible for overseeing the chief financial officer and providing support for the creation of internal control guidelines, protocols, and finances as required.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, billing, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and other specific analyses.
• Keep an official set of accounting procedures and policies in place.
• Keep track of all account payments and make sure they are made on schedule.
• Handle accounts and receipt of payments
• Keep track of all payments made for bank loans, debts, and other substantial sums of money.
• Keep an eye on funding and cash levels.

Qualifications

• A B.S. in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline
• 10 years of recent relevant experience. Prior construction experience is required.
• Quickbooks Online accounting software expert
• AP and month-end closing process experience
• Proficient interpersonal and communication abilities
• Excellent ability to serve customers
• Skilled in computer software, particularly Excel in Microsoft Office
