Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise and support for the operation, including installation and commissioning of new and existing equipment, root cause analysis, basic and advanced troubleshooting, and corrective/preventive actions. Support is available around-the-clock.
- Assist with particular control fields like supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), and advanced process control (APC). controls hardware, systems, process parameters, and data in electronic format. keeps drives, servos, and encoders in working order and ensures that all PLC and HMI programs are regularly backed up and updated.
- Upholds, adjusts, and changes current control systems in accordance with the organization's change control procedures. Creates process control specifications for new or updated systems and takes part in meetings with outside vendors for design reviews.
- identifies needs and opportunities for control systems, collaborates with other departments and engineers to troubleshoot issues, optimize equipment operations, and prevent failures.
- Oversees large-scale initiatives or project milestones. Presents fresh project ideas with cost and business value analyses to leadership and stakeholders in order to win their support and buy-in for possible implementation.
- Creates and maintains risk mitigation plans to prevent critical failures related to electronic file problems, parts shortages, complex recovery techniques, availability of support software, and inaccurate schematics. This allows for the prompt resolution or workaround of various control or system-related issues.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of Controls Engineering experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong PLC (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), HMI and SCADA experience
- Strong hands on, go getter mindset.
- Printing experience a plus
- VB, C or related programming skills a plus
