We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Director of External Reporting & Tax to join our team. They will be responsible for preparing and filing all required corporate external financial reports, including annual SEC reports, managing the income tax function, providing technical accounting expertise, and optimizing the company's tax strategies. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC and regulatory reporting requirements, and advanced proficiency in MS Office.
The Director of External Reporting & Tax will provide guidance to the accounting department regarding the preparation of the companies financial reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards and other applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The Director will also be responsible for optimizing the companies tax strategies and compliance with all external tax and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

• Research and interpret complex accounting requirements and regulations.
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of the companies external financial reports, including SEC filings and other required reports.
• Manage the companies income tax function and prepare and file required tax returns.
• Identify and implement tax optimization strategies.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and other related financial disclosures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures.
• Develop and/or review system integrations, process improvements, and change management to ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide technical guidance on accounting practices, business combinations, share-based compensation, complex structures, purchase accounting, and other areas.
• Develop and review investor presentations, EDGAR and XBRL filings, and ESOP and 401K plans.
• Perform accounting research and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• 7 years of financial reporting experience
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office
