Position OverviewThe Investment Accountant will be responsible for managing and reporting on all investment-related activities for the company based in Wilmington, DE. This role requires a thorough understanding of insurance accounting, STAAT, and GAAP accounting principles, as well as strong Excel skills and excellent interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate should also be proficient in conducting a STAAT to GAAP walk and be comfortable with investment accounting and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate investment accounting records, including debits and credits, reconciliations, and other financial transactions
- Prepare and analyze investment reports, including portfolio performance, asset allocation, and investment income
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of investment activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, such as GAAP and STAAT
- Assist in the preparation of investment-related financial statements and disclosures
- Conduct a STAAT to GAAP walk to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Stay current on industry developments and changes in regulations related to investment accounting
- Maintain strong relationships with investment partners and external auditors
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in investment accounting or related role
- Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles
- Proficiency in STAAT and GAAP accounting
- Excellent knowledge of debits and credits and the ability to perform reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex financial models
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
