Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Nashville, TN
Compensation: upto $75K DOE - paid overtime (time and a half) over 40 hours if needed discretionary annual bonus and great benefits package
Requirements: Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting
We are one of Nashville's largest accounting, consulting and business management firms that has been around for 30 years.
We focus primarily in the music industries with clients including entertainers, producers, publishers etc. across a number of formats including country, R&B, Christian, Rock and much more.
We are actively growing (20% growth in the last 2 years) and have an average employee tenure of 9 years.
*you do not need to have music industry experience*
Responsibilities

• Accounts payable for multiple entities
• Prepare deposits and manage accounts receivable
• Maintain general ledgers for multiple clients
• Calculate monthly commissions
• Manage payroll through Paychex
• Prepare 1099s
• Prepare sales tax returns and business tax returns
• Prepare tax workpapers for the tax department

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
• 1 to 2 years of general ledger experience including accounts payable and journal entries is preferred
• Knowledge of payroll tax and sales tax is a plus
• Strong excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and prioritize workload
