Position Overview: The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the tax compliance and planning of the company, with the goal of minimizing overall tax liabilities. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is proactive in their approach. The Tax Manager should have excellent problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of sales tax and ASC 740 tax code.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the tax compliance process for the company, including federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's overall tax liabilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain processes and controls for compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Monitor tax law changes and assess impact to the company's tax liabilities.
• Research complex tax issues and prepare technical memos to support tax planning strategies.
• Assist with financial statement audits and ensure accuracy of tax-related items.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and ensure compliance with sales and payroll tax regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA certification
• At least 5 years of experience in tax preparation and planning
• Highly knowledgeable in ASC 740, GAAP, and SOX
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Argus Underwriting, Great Plains General Ledger Software, and BNA Fixed Asset Software
