- Ensuring that the application and required documentation are complete, current, and valid.
- Navigating various federal and State databases, including Medicare’s enrollment system (PECOS) and other states’ licensing verification websites.
- Contacting providers via email or phone if information is incomplete or requires further clarification.
- Entering and updating providers.
- Meeting production and quality standards.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work assignments.
- Ability to be flexible, innovative and work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Previous experience in health care office, health insurance, and the public or non-profit sectors (Preferred).
- Previous data entry and data validation experience (Preferred).
- Previous customer service experience (Preferred).
- DHPCO is responsible for regulating the managed care industry and purchasing health insurance for the Medicaid program.
- This includes managed care contracting; oversight of health plan compliance with policies and applicable federal and state laws and regulations; monitoring of Financial viability, mergers, acquisitions and other transactions for both government and commercial health plans.
- review and approval of provider and management contracts; enrollment of Medicaid providers.
- Maintenance of Medicaid provider enrollment files; and operation of the State’s Managed Care complaint line.
- This division serves as the Department's liaison to all health plans.
