Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is Hiring a System Analyst II - REPOST Near Houston, TX

SUMMARY:

Evaluate, research, analyze, develop and serve as a business decision maker to determine computer system requirements that will provide solutions for Cypress-Fairbanks Student Information System (SIS) including, but not limited to Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Public Information Education Management Systems (PEIMS), eFinance systems, PowerSchool, and any other systems that are supported by Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, or minimum of seven (7) years’ experience with SIS (PowerSchool, eSchoolPLUS).
  2. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with Texas K-12 business processes and best practices. 
  3. Experience in SQL Server and database technologies.
  4. Programming skills such as Transact SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, Cognos.
  5. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 250 days

SALARY:

$61,158- TA5

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2020-2021

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serve as the enterprise liaison between CFISD and district vendor partners to ensure that district level needs are identified, vetted, and integrated into CFISD’s SIS.
  2. Analyze business processes and programs to maximize efficiency by coordinating program needs in systems such as:
    1. Registration
      1. Online
      2. On Campus
    2. All grade levels
        1. Registrar
        2. Attendance
        3. Gradebook
        4. Report Card
        5. Master Schedule
        6. Medical Records for Students
        7. Student Discipline
    3. Regulatory Requirement
        1. PEIMS
        2. OCR
        3. Local Mandates
    4. Transcripts
    5. Service Requests Analysis
  3. Coordinate and troubleshoot with technology services, district administration and other departments in deploying student information processes and procedures for all district school programs: calendar school year, summer school, response to intervention (RTI), special education, graduation requirements, etc.
  4. Coordinate with third party vendor to establish best practices to define data exchange specifications, develop interface programs, create the technical documentation, implement the data exchange, etc.
  5. Manage the design, development, administration, documentation, and process improvement on:
    1. Customer satisfaction surveys
    2. Program level documentation
    3. User level documentation
  6. Manage the collaboration with the district’s PEIMS coordinator to define and implement process improvements in preparing PEIMS data for state submissions to TEA.
  7. Manage SIS projects with established timelines.
  8. Facilitates the management of regulatory policies established by local, state and federal authorities.
  9. Consult with customers to analyze and document software needs or enhancements.
  10. Coordinate with the senior programmers to design, implement, debug and document programs to meet the customer’s specifications.
  11. Manage, develop and maintain:
    1. procedural manuals
    2. software tutorials
    3. educational materials
      1. videos
      2. on-line handbooks
      3. communications to customers
  12. Manage Cognos reporting requirements.
  13. Provide back-up support to Manager Operations and Support of Information Services and Applications.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
  15. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  1. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  2. Strong software troubleshooting skills.
  3. Current programming language and/or utility for software analysis, design and reporting.
  4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
