SVHC - OBGYN

SUMMARY

The person in the position of Obstetric-Pediatric Coordinator is an integral member of the Care Team. They interact with patients as they navigate through SVHC PrimeCare’s services. This position provides direct clinical care to patients, assistance with operational support to the providers, and is responsible for a variety of clerical, lab, education, and follow-up duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes but not limited to the following:

  • Perform all duties of a Certified Medical Assistant. See Job Description.
  • Works closely with SVHC OB Coordinator Supervisor for OB related duties
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and OB patients
  • Provides initial orientation to the prenatal patients
  • Communicates with patients between visits regarding appointments, labs, referrals, etc.
  • Coordinates OB Global Billing to Cypress Billing Dept.
  • Coordinate with EPIC for Pediatric workflows, documentation, reports etc.
  • Participates in staff training to further pediatric education in order to remain current with practice changes and clinical competency requirements
  • Orders and maintains prenatal and pediatric education materials
  • Coordinates community resources, classes, services, etc.
  • Coordinate Call Schedule for Office & Hospital scheduling for FP/OB providers and submit monthly reconciliation numbers to Cypress Accounting.
  • Review and audit OB patient and pediatric patient charts and performs Pre-Visit Planning for patient visits
  • Review CCAH CBI scores and participate in process improvement
  • Coordinate with Population Health department to improve clinic measures pertaining to OB and pediatrics
  • Performs other duties and tasks as needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The employee performing this position is expected to hold a High School diploma. Associates degree strongly preferred. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or six (6) month Nurse Aide Program. S/he must be detail oriented, well organized and computer literate (i.e., experience Electronic Health Record systems, a multiline phone systems and basic software such as Microsoft Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.) The employee performing this position is expected to be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations and must be able to work quickly when business conditions warrant.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no direct supervisory responsibilities. Indirect responsibilities may include assisting management with interviewing and training new Medical Assistants. The OB Coordinator will be expected to excel in their duties as a Medical Assistant and help their peers perform their job to the best of their abilities. This will be achieved through coaching and motivating on a regular basis. The OB Coordinator will promote teamwork and inspire all to work together to achieve positive outcomes that they can be proud of.

  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salinas Valley Health Clinics requires you to prove that you have received the COVID-19 vaccine or have a valid religious or medical reason not to be vaccinated.
