- Machine Operation: Operate and oversee a variety of machines and equipment, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently. Perform routine setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and train a team of machine operators. Provide guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines to prevent breakdowns. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Quality Control: Monitor and inspect machine output to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. Implement corrective actions when necessary to address any deviations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements. Collaborate with the production team to implement changes that enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety regulations and procedures. Conduct safety briefings and ensure all team members are trained in proper safety practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents or issues. Prepare reports as needed for management review.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, quality assurance, and production planning, to ensure seamless operations and address any cross-functional challenges.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machine operator, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in the Cannabis industry is preferred.
- Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing various types of machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in machine operation, quality control, and documentation.
- Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to machine operation and maintenance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various environmental conditions.
- Work may be performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
