Daifuku Automotive America is Hiring an Emulation Engineer II Near Bolingbrook, IL
Leads the emulation of usually mid-sized complex material handling systems, developing, designing, engineering, and integration of multiple technologies. Works with software and controls engineering to develop 3D models for mid-sized automated projects
- Performs and leads emulation of usually mid-sized material handling systems, developing, designing, engineering, and integration of multiple technologies.
- Collaborates with other engineers supporting the design of usually mid-sized end-to-end material handling systems that integrate multiple technologies such as sortation conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, voice and light picking systems, and supporting structures
- Develops 3D emulation models to validate system equipment controls and system software
- Performs data collection and analysis to define design criteria and validate designs
- Provides feedback to multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients about design considerations, consequences, and results derived from the emulation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in material handling industry, minimum of 5 years
- Experience in simulation or emulation experience, minimum of 3 years
- Experience in software development with emphasis on object oriented design, minimum 1 year
- Knowledge of material handling, including controls and software and material handling equipment technology
- Knowledge of process improvement processes and mathematical modeling of systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, and SQL and knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
- Familiarity of AutoCAD
- Proficient in Javascript or similar scripting languages
- Knowledge or experience with Demo/Emulate 3d, Automod, or similar simulation software.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong data visualization and presentation skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand interface specification documents
