Job SummaryPerforms simulation and analysis of usually small, complex material handling systems including developing, designing, engineering, and integration of multiple technologies. Works with Solution Sales and Appication Engineers to develop 3D models for small to medium scale automated projects. Typically tasked to present analysis and solution to stakeholders.
  • Performs simulation and analysis of usually small, complex material handling systems including developing, designing, engineering, and integration of multiple technologies.
  • Collaborates with other engineers supporting the design of usually small, complex end-to-end material handling systems that integrate multiple technologies such as sortation conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, voice and light picking systems, and supporting structures
  • Develops 3D simulation models to validate system design, equipment controls, and system software
  • Performs data collection and analysis to assist in design validation
  • Provides visual representations of systems for use in sales and pre-sales activities.
  • Travels up to 10%
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred education or experience in material handling industry, preferred minimum of 1 year
  • Education or experience in analytics, statistics, or simulation, preferred minimum of 1 year
  • Education or experience in software development with emphasis on object oriented design
  • Ability to learn new technologiesAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesAbility to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong data visualization and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge or experience with Demo/Emulate 3d, Automod, or similar simulation software.
  • Familiar with Javascript or similar scripting languages
  • Familiarity of AutoCAD
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, and SQL and knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of process improvement processes and mathematical modeling of systems
  • Knowledge of material handling, including controls and software and material handling equipment technology
