Due to promotion, we are currently seeking a Sales Account Manager who will support sales activities for the Kemps business in the Minneapolis, MN metro area. In this role, you will creatively seek opportunities to develop and execute operating plans for key accounts or assigned division.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Recommend and implement pricing strategy for all account classes to maintain company margin and ensure competitive positioning in the marketplace.
  • Evaluate the results of sales programs and directs appropriate action to ensure the effective use of promotions, displays and sales incentive plans. Analyzes and recommends improvements to existing product lines, product mixes and price structures in order to provide customer with a competitive line of products.
  • Actively strengthens customer relationships through diplomatic negotiations and consultative problem solving. Is committed to resolving any concerns that impact business results or threaten customer satisfaction.
  • Present annual category reviews to enlighten key customers on the performance of competitor’s brands within each category. Identify and leverage opportunity gaps and utilizes advanced selling skills to build the case for new products.
  • Consistently analyze the impact of production capabilities, distribution service levels, and accurate order entry on profitability at the SKU and store level. Identifies cost-savings opportunities and works closely with internal Kemps departments to enhance profitability.
  • Work alongside Account Representatives/Managers to successfully execute pricing strategies and implement new products or programs. Coordinate merchandising activity to ensure consistency at the store level. Support the efforts of Account Representatives to build positive customer relationships and recognize opportunities in the operations of individual stores, driving the customer’s business through product mix, price points, promotion strategy, etc.
  • May have one or more direct reports; works alongside them as a coach and partner to effectively manage their performance. Communicate company and cascading goals and assists direct reports in establishing goals that align with department and company goals. Provides on-going performance feedback and holds self-accountable for conducting at least three formal performance conversations with direct reports each year. Actively works with direct reports to cultivate capabilities and utilize their strengths.
  • May provide direct retail support with product distribution, promotional activity and displays, and company point of purchase while maintaining and building upon Kemps’ relationship with the customer.
