Job Title: Lead Technician

Location: Costa Mesa, California

Overview:

Daisy is a national smart space installation and services company that simplifies smart home and office technology to make it work optimally, solving one of the biggest in-home problems today and bringing more joy into the lives of our clients. We are seeking an AV Service Technician to solve and troubleshoot audio, visual, controls, and security equipment in residential and commercial locations. The right candidate for this role has experience with Control4 and will performs system configuration, calibration, programming, and testing – as well as demonstrates mastery of basic wiring/cabling for low voltage integrated systems To succeed in this role, you must be a detail-oriented, process-driven, self-motivated problem-solver; a strong communicator and team collaborator who will grow and expand our ability to support our commercial and residential installation and service teams. Our Lead Technicians regularly interact with clients while representing the Daisy brand and develop trusted relationships, helping to enhance their lives through technology.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and interprets blueprints, diagrams, floor plans, specifications, and operational/product manuals
  • Install, configure, and maintains audio/video, satellite/cable, networking/data systems, devices and components
  • Manage all aspects of support including end user training, troubleshooting, and follow through on escalation of issues.
  • Resolve system issues either proactively based on data or reactively based on client trouble identifying.
  • Collaborate on problem solving in both installation standards and provide challenges and successes during weekly team meetings, allowing for participation in improving the company and having your voice heard
  • Installs and terminates low voltage cable
  • Travels to various job sites; uses hand and power tools safely; maintains company issued tools, equipment, and vehicle
  • In addition to clients, interacts with builders and other industry professionals
  • Communicates every day with the Project Manager on the progress of the project

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years AV / Networking / Technology Integration Experience
  • Control4 Certification
  • Experience in residential/commercial AV or automation with knowledge of overall concepts and configurations for categories of work and products within our industry
  • Industry recognized (CEDIA, AVIXA, manufacturer, etc.) credentials preferred
  • Minimum of a high school diploma required
  • Brings a positive attitude, good customer service skills, a stellar work ethic, and a professional appearance to the workplace
  • Adept at thinking creatively and strategically
  • Motivated to learn new technologies and processes
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
  • Balances competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines
  • Works independently and as part of a team
  • Exhibits strong management and leadership skills; capable of leading and motivating others
  • Can pass a drug screen and background check
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle
  • Must adhere to state and federal laws as well as abide by traffic laws while using company vehicle and/or on company business
  • Ability to pass a national background check for Alarm Agent requirements - Live Scan
  • Able to independently lift items up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of sitting, standing, and kneeling for extended periods of time

Schedule:

We offer a flexible alternative workweek schedule of four 10-hour days, allowing for a three-day weekend each week and a more effective working day. Our technicians appreciate being able to complete a job in one day and not have to return.
