Senior Accountant

Daiwa Capital Markets America Inc. (“DCMA”), was incorporated in 1964. DCMA is a New York-based registered securities broker-dealer, a futures commission merchant, a primary dealer of U.S. Treasury securities, and a member of the New York Stock Exchange and other major U.S. exchanges. Our main focus is on the sales and trading of Japanese, Asian, and U.S. equities, fixed income instruments, financial futures, and investment banking for institutional customers. DCMA’s ultimate parent company is Daiwa Securities Group Inc.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing accounting support to various functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Management Accounting, Management Reporting, General Ledger, Ad hoc Expense Analysis and Annual Expense Planning. This position has regular contact with department heads to collect and distribute sensitive financial information as well as research and provide explanations when questions arise.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain, generate and report Fixed Expense, Administrative and Support Allocations
• Accounts Payable voucher processing
• Affiliate Receivable collections and cash application
• Assist with Annual Expense Plan

Other duties include month-end journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, preparing ad hoc expense analysis and generating/ distributing reports to Management

Qualifications:

• B.S in Accounting
• 2-5 years full-time experience working in General Accounting
• Advanced skills/experience with the Microsoft Suite specifically Excel.
• Knowledge and experience with related Accounting processes and related technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organization skills.
