Dakota County CDA is Hiring a Site Attendant - Heart of the City Family Townhomes, Burnsville, MN Near Burnsville, MN

The Dakota County Community Development Agency (CDA) is seeking a Site Attendant for Heart of the City Family Townhomes, located in Burnsville, MN. This position is 7 hours per week with a starting pay of $14.75 per hour.
Recruitment Type: This position is open until filled.
This is an on-site position. You must be a current resident at the development or eligible to be a resident of the Workforce Housing Program.
Responsibilities include maintaining common areas and monitoring townhome site. Caretaker will be responsible for monitoring tenant activities and enforcing Dakota County Community Development Agency policies.1. Perform Grounds Maintenance.
  • Maintain grounds; ensure that the site grounds are free of trash and debris.
  • Clean and maintain interior of site office and adjoining common areas (e.g. sanitize restroom(s), clean glass and surfaces, dust, sweep, mop and vacuum as necessary).
  • Maintain site landscaping; trim and weed as necessary. 
  • Monitor performance of contracted lawn service by maintaining "Weekly Grounds Log" and report any deficiencies to the Property Manager.
  • Ensure that all resident vehicles and property is stored properly.
  • Perform weekly physical inspection of the property and report findings to the Property Manager. (e.g., torn screens, broken blinds, damaged siding, etc.)
  • Notify the Property Manager of any conditions threatening the health and safety of the resident population. Correct the condition where feasible.
 
2. Perform Snow Removal and salt/sanding.
  • Keep site exterior safe and sanitary by removing ice/snow (i.e. shoveling, salting/sanding, snow blowing, etc.) from common areas (i.e. sidewalks, mailboxes, staff and maintenance offices, etc.) that are less than 1 inch per snow occurrence.
  • Clear sidewalks and entryways of drifted snow, per snow occurrence (snow blowers provided).
  • Salt and sand all walkways, mailboxes, staff and maintenance offices as needed using magnesium chloride only or sand.
  • Notify Property Manager when parking lot is in need of salt/sand treatment.
  • Notify Property Manager when salt/sand supply is running low.
 
3. Perform assigned administrative and resident relations functions.
  • Maintain awareness of resident activities to ensure compliance with all CDA policies. Report violations of CDA policies to the Property Manager.
  • Intervene, when necessary and appropriate, to interrupt or prevent behaviors which will damage the property or harm other residents. (e.g., vandalism, children playing with matches, etc.)
  • Contact Property Management on 24-hour basis to report any resident activities deemed to cause an emergency or life-threatening situation.
  • Distribute memos from CDA staff and/or contractors as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
4. Serve as a positive agency representative to residents.
  • Maintain good resident relations; act as positive CDA representative to resident and external clientele.
  • Support Dakota County CDA management and abide by CDA policies, rules and regulations.
  • Handle resident matters respectfully and remain neutral in difficult situations.
  • Report any resident rule/policy violations to Property Manager to address. 
  • Refer residents to the Program Support Assistant to report work order requests.
  • Refer residents to the Property Manager to report resident disputes or site needs.
  • If available, respond on-call for urgent issues as instructed by management that threaten the health or safety of residents or the property.
 
5. Communication Requirements.
  • Communicate clearly in a positive, respectful manner.
  • Demonstrate good judgement and accountability.
  • Show an ability and willingness to follow protocol.
  • Be approachable, pleasant, and listen well.
  • Exhibit understanding of and maintain confidentiality in regards to private data and sensitive information.
  • Respond to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Complete timesheets on pay period end dates and turn in to Property Manager.
 
6. Act as a positive representative of the CDA.
  • Promote a positive image of the CDA to residents.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with CDA employees, vendors and contractors working with the CDA.
  • Handle situations with residents/vendors in a professional manner.
  • Must abide by Resident handbook.
  • Must abide by all Board approved policies, policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment, executive communications, administrative procedures, and safety procedures established by the CDA.
Minimum required: Must live on-site.
Ability to perform physical tasks necessary for maintenance of grounds.
Ability to evaluate maintenance problems and take appropriate action.
Ability to handle resident issues and keep Property Manager informed; good verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of CDA policies and procedures.
