Dakota Eye Institute is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgery Center team! Start times range from 6:30 - 7:30 AM. Shifts range from 8 - 10 hours per day and days worked during the week vary due to business needs. As a Registered Nurse, this individual is responsible for assisting the physician and Surgery Center staff in delivering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the surgery center in accordance with established procedures.
Job Responsibilities

Works willingly where needed to maintain a steady flow to provide optimal patient care in a timely manner.

Uses good assessment in order to anticipate all patient needs and coordinates with doctors, anesthesia, and co-workers to prevent any deviation from the standards of care.

Provides an opportunity for patient and family to receive and understand all aspects of treatment related to surgery.

Anticipates physicians’ needs and works with all physicians in an efficient and respectful manner.

Responds to emergency situations appropriately based on surgery center protocol.

Keeps current with education in relation to patients and procedures.

Completes EHR charting so that documentation is accurate and complete. Follows-up all incomplete work in a timely manner.

Maintains excellent communication with ASC Manager and fellow employees in relation to all aspects of the surgery center.

Assesses comfort and safety measures and provides verbal and tactile reassurance to the patient

Works in all areas as necessary to maintain quality patient care.
Qualifications
-
Must be a graduate of a college or university and/or accredited school of nursing.

Must hold a current license from the North Dakota State Board of Nursing to practice as a registered nurse.

Experience in operating room preferred.
-
Education and/or training with computers preferred.
-
Current BCLS is mandatory - ACLS preferred.
-
Membership in local, state, and national societies is preferred
Physical Abilities
-
Ability to interact and verbally communicate with physicians, staff, and patients.
-
Ability to assist wheelchair bound patients.
-
Ability to be on your feet and move around the surgical center for a possible 8–10-hour shift.
-
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as copy machine, phone, and printer.
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
-
Ability to twist, pull, push, squat, or change positions to administer care to patients, assist the physician, or put supplies away.
