    The Dallastown Area School District seeks a Winter Cheerleading Coach for the Junior High Sideline for the 2024-25 school year who will emulate our vision of inspiring and creating pathways for student success.

    All elections are contingent upon receipt and district’s approval of all necessary pre-employment forms, certifications, state-mandated physical examinations, clearances, etc.
    REPORTS TO: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
    • Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
    • Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continued examination of new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE DASD ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT COACHES HANDBOOK:
    • Instructs athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
    • Serves as a role model by demonstrating behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes.
    • Becomes familiar with, and adheres to, all the athletic policies approved by the Dallastown Area Board of School Directors.
    • Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
    • Organizes parents, coaches, players and guests for pre-season meetings, and attends public, staff and department meetings, as required.
    • Recommends equipment guidelines as to type, style, color or technical specifications, and iInstills in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
    • Permits the athletes to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times in addition to supervising locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility. '
    • Responsible for maintaining good public relations with news media, booster clubs, parents, officials, volunteers and fans.
    • Responsible for the quality, effectiveness and validity of any oral or written release to local media.
    • Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Athletics and Activities Director / Principal / Head Cheer Coach.
