Product Innovation Manager is an integrated part of the Product Innovation Team alongside the Automaton Innovation and Digital Innovation under the Maersk Innovation Center.

About the Role

As a Product Innovation Manager, you will be a key stakeholder to influence what are the next ‘exciting solutions’ in international logistics space that Maersk should be offering. You will have the opportunity to shape the future products and solutions by bringing in exciting technologies and new business models into it. We expect you to think strategically about innovation within Maersk products and solutions, while being hands on in taking us there via oversee projects end to end including exploring opportunities, identifying solutions, analyzing feasibility including operational and financial aspects, conducting proof of concepts, and eventually deploying innovative products/solutions to create value for Maersk customers.

Innovation does not happen in a vacuum, thus we expect you to be a team player who is passionate about teamwork and co-creation. You will be working closely with product, delivery, operations, and finance teams within Maersk, delivering the ‘newest and greatest’ exciting product/solution that the team is and will be working on as well as collecting the ‘wish list’ from stakeholders. You will also be working closely customers where we address their needs and wishes by deploying our solutions. You will also be interacting with startups, venture capitals and academia for specific projects. For better collaboration, together with Innovation teams, you will be hosting customer visits to Innovation Center, interviews, and workshops occasionally.

As shiny and exciting as innovation sounds, it comes with uncertainties in many shapes and forms. We expect you to be comfortable navigating through and working with the uncertainties. Continuously being persistent when failing while maintaining a positive attitude.

The role requires high level of project management skills, communication skills, analytical thinking, and open and strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Navigate internal and external stakeholders to identify potential new features to products and integrated solutions, as well as to transform current ways of working, leveraging new technology.
• Independently drive and maintain end to end ownership of product innovation projects or proof of concepts (POCs) as part of a highly driven and impactful Maersk Product Innovation agenda – Including navigating a complex landscape of stakeholders across the organization, and formulating project documentation e.g. project charter, project plan, stakeholder map and managing day to day workflow.
• Collect, analyze and distill insights from market data to understand current and future trends shaping the international logistics market in the US and Canada, with a focus on warehousing and transportation in North America.
• Screen innovative technologies and work closely with stake holders within the Innovation Center, products, operations, and finance to develop understanding of upside potential of the technologies.
• Assisting in maintaining Innovation Center’s communication strategy internally and externally.
• Assisting in continuous Innovation Center’s eco-system building including hosting and/or participating conferences, events, roundtables, customer engagements and others.
• Assisting in developing and reviewing of Product Innovation strategic roadmap aligning with business needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply change management or engineering, or other equivalent degree.
• 5 years of consulting, process improvement, supply chain, logistics or other equivalent experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
• Ability to build excellent rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to travel up to 30 percent.
