Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Architect Specialist with expertise in automotive systems and knowledge of AUTOSAR to join our team. As an integral member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software solutions for automotive applications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Architecture Reviews: Provide the content and process reviews of architecture platforms across Dana business units
  • Architectural Coaching: Provide consulting and coaching regarding architecture design and integration testing for various Dana products
  • Technical Development and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in embedded software development, automotive technologies, and industry best practices to drive technical development plan and continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Architectural Methodology: Design and develop architecture processes, methodology and guidelines and support their roll-out across the organization
  • Architectural Design: Develop and design embedded software architectures for automotive systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify, advise, and implement strategies to optimize software performance, memory usage, and power consumption for embedded automotive applications.
  • BSW/AUTOSAR Integration: Utilize your expertise in BSW or AUTOSAR to integrate software components and ensure compliance with various standards.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design the strategy for embedded software integration with hardware components and third-party systems.
  • Requirements Analysis: Work closely with various teams and stakeholders to understand and analyze software requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and test plans to ensure clear understanding and maintainability of the software system.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and execute thorough testing procedures to validate software functionality, reliability, and safety according to automotive industry standards.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10 years in embedded software development for automotive applications.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C programming languages and experience with embedded real-time operating systems.
  • In-depth understanding of BSW and AUTOSAR architecture and standards.
  • Experience with software development tools such as compilers, debuggers, and version control systems.76. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
