Position Overview: From aircraft to ground vehicles, DMT defense and space systems are installed across a wide range of military platforms, providing our nation and its allies with critical warfighting and intelligence advantages. At Danbury, the Optical Pursuit Lead Senior Manager is responsible for identifying optic and optical system business opportunities and transitioning those opportunities to achieve established growth objectives. The individual is expected to apply optics/optical systems technical knowledge with the business skills to generate sustainable growth of the optical systems business in an Aerospace and Defense environment. The role will also include program management of integrated product teams. Specific Requirements: In this position, you will: * Identify and develop both new and follow-on optical business opportunities to generate profitable growth for the optical products business unit.
* Construct customer target lists, develop well-organized business capture plans and recommend product and business strategy to achieve financial objectives.
* Establish and cultivate successful customer relationships.
* Perform review and/or general white paper, RFI, RFQ, and RFP responses for optical products and customer optics. Lead customer contract negotiations and coordinate internal resources.
* Develop price to win models and competitive pricing approach to capture awards and maximize company value.
* Work with leadership and engineering teams to identify customer needs; connect needs with funding sources.
* Develop and present detailed optical system capability and value proposition presentations to customers.
* Participate in strategic planning activities by identifying group strategies and financial objectives.
* Provide program planning, direction and control to meet cost, schedule ad performance goals throughout the program life cycle.
* Visit customers frequently, attend trade shows and seminars, demonstrate products, articulate competitive benefits of the company's optical systems. Education Requirements: * Bachelor's in Engineering, Marketing or other related business field. Experience Required: * Must have a minimum of 10 years of Optics/Optical System technical sales or marketing experience in Defense or Aerospace industry
* Proven ability to grow an optics business.
* Technical knowledge in optics, optical systems and thin film coatings.
* Strong understanding of acquisition processes for US government customers.
* Strong analytical and data gathering skills, experience in Business Development Operations as well as proposal generation and price to win strategies.
* Experience writing white papers, RFI responses, briefings, correspondence, and reports Skills: * Strong leadership, self-initiative, and proven ability to work and collaborate with the functional organizations, and the Executive Leadership Team
* Must be an articulate and fluent communicator, verbal and written, and at ease with public speaking
* Demonstrated problem identification, analytic/ problem solving skills, flexibility
* Must be organized, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
* Strong time management skills/ability to multi-task numerous projects
* Military Background desired but not required EHS/Environmental Requirements: * Position requires supporting the business pursuits as necessary which may require weekends, holidays and off shifts. Position may require entering the production areas and adhering to all safety requirements of the production areas. Due to contract requirements, US citizenship is required.
